During the early morning hours of November 12, 2020, Prince George County Police arrested Benjamin Franklin Chiarky, 31, for the murder of Corrine Lee Huddleston, 20, of South Prince George County. The arrest came about due to a missing person investigation that has been ongoing since Huddleston was last seen in early October.

“We have been working with Prince George County Police for a month on this investigation,” said Surry County Sheriff Carlos Turner.  “They wanted us to check some property on Spring Grove, which we did. In a wooded area during the early morning hours located Thursday – around 2 a.m. – we located human remains.”

Turner said that investigators believe the remains likely are those of Corrine Lee Huddleston, but they have been sent to the office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Richmond for positive identification.

Chiarky, 31, of the 12,000 block of Colonial Trail West in Spring Grove is being held without bond at Riverside Regional Jail.  He also was charged with felony conspire to distribute a schedule IV drug and for failure to comply with terms and conditions of probation.

The Surry County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to work the ongoing investigation with The Prince George County Police Department.  Anyone with information related to the case is urged to call the Prince George Police Department at (804) 733-2773 or Crime Solvers at (804) 733-2777.
