SUSSEX – Two people were injured in separate pre-dawn shootings in Sussex and Surry Counties Wednesday morning, and both incidents are believed to be related, according to law enforcement sources close to the investigation.
Around 2 a.m. a male was shot in Surry County and subsequently transferred to an area hospital. Two hours later, a 46 year-old Waverly woman was wounded in the hip by one of 14 gunshots that penetrated into her bedroom through a wall and a window.
While details remain scarce as detectives continue their investigation, the two incidents are believed to be related and the result of a feud.
