REGION — The John Randolph Foundation is partnering with The American Red Cross to help meet the continuing blood needs of patients suffering unexpected trauma and chronic illness. JRF hosted four blood drives in April and May and three more are scheduled: Thursday, June 18; Wednesday, July 15; and Thursday, August 13, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at 112 N. Main Street in Hopewell.

“The world is living though an unimagined crisis right now and thousands of blood drives have been cancelled nationwide,” said Kevin S. Foster, John Randolph Foundation Director of Programs. “When the American Red Cross reached out to us, we were thrilled to open our doors to help alleviate the pressing need for blood in our community.”

“We’ve had four successful drives this spring collecting more than 110 units of blood,” he continued. “We welcomed a 94-year-old U.S. Army veteran donor and celebrated with a Prince George resident donating for at least the 100th time. The community support for these drives is inspiring.”
